Basic DNA Sequencing
Service Highlight of the service This DNA sequencing service is designed to meet the demand for sequence with high accuracy. It uses our own proprietally techniques which give longer high-quality sequence than standard techniques. In addition to a 500 bp readable sequence guarantee*, the service includes manual sequence editing to correct computer error (extends sequence accuracy to 800 bases or more), helpful comments on quality of the sequence, no-charge DNA concentration for low yield pasmid, and gel filtration purification for low quaity DNA. Service Description We will perform DNA sequencing reaction with template and primer provided and run the reaction on an ABI PRISM Genetic Analyzer. The data obtained from the DNA sequencer will be manually edited to correct computer error to improve sequence accuracy. The sequencing data will be sent by email to the contracting laboratory in three files: 1) sequence in text format, 2) edited chromatograph in ab1 format, and 3) edited chromatograph in pdf format. In addition, helpful comments on the quality of sequence will be provided in the email. Materials required for the service (pdf) Service guarantee 1) 500 bp readable sequence guarantee On an average, each good sequencing run will give 700-900 bases of sequences. Among them 450-650 bases can be read and used with certainty (Readable sequences). We guarantee that each sequencing run will provide at least 500 bases of readable sequence, or we will repeat the sequencing run one time at no charge. This guarantee applies to most sequencing run with quality DNA templates and primers according to our recommendation with the exception of DNA templates containing long stretch of single base or repeat, GC-rich sequences and secondary structures such as hairpin/inverted repeat that cannot be resolved by standard sequencing techniques. 2) Low signal repeat guarantee On request, we will repeat sequencing run one time at no charge with more concentrated DNA if the failure of sequencing is caused by low signal due to low concentration of the submitted template. Typical turnaround time for the service 3 working days for simple projects. Additional time is required for large project and primer synthesis.
